The Wildwood Senior Living Looks Forward to This Year’s Spring-Cleaning

Category: Senior Living

Author: Michael Crafton, Plant Operations Director

Spring-cleaning is celebrated in cultures across the world. Due to the tilt of the Earth on its axis, the northern hemisphere begins to see the winter-scape come to life with daffodils blooming, grass greening, and temperatures warming during late March, into early April.

Spring-cleaning has grown into National Spring-Cleaning Week. This annual effort has expanded beyond house and business cleaning into peoples’ finances, technology, and other areas of a person’s life. With that in mind, The Wildwood Senior Living is looking forward to completing this year’s community-wide spring-cleaning effort!

At work, we clean the windows, inside and out, as well as power wash the building. The carpets are cleaned, especially at entry points. We touch up paint in hallways and the HVAC systems are cleaned with filters changed. At home, I clear the winter clothing from the closets and place in storage. I have the carpets cleaned professionally. All yard waste, left over from winter, is removed and the weeds are eradicated. The flowers are fed and replanted if necessary.

Cleaning and removing clutter put me in a better frame of mind. It increases the “curb appeal” of our community and makes our residents happy to see their home taken care of.

Spring is also a great time for my yearly check up with my doctor and to check on investments, to see how they are preforming and if any changes need to be made.

This will be the third year of our tradition of spring-cleaning within the community and each year is better than the last! Come see for yourself how a clean, well-kept community brings smiles to its residents and staff.
