As summer heats up, we at The Wildwood Senior Living prioritize maintaining a safe and comfortable environment for our older adult residents. Rising temperatures present unique challenges, especially in our senior living community, where residents are more vulnerable to heat-related issues. Our maintenance team follows some essential safety measures to ensure a safe, smooth-running, and pleasant summer for everyone.
We inspect air conditioning units regularly to ensure they function correctly and replace air filters to maintain air quality. Thermostats are set at comfortable temperatures, and cooling is monitored in common areas and resident rooms.
We educate residents on staying hydrated and avoiding peak heat hours by distributing flyers and holding meetings. We also promote indoor activities during extreme heat to keep residents engaged and safe.
In our community, I clean all outside condenser units, including rooftop units, by washing the fins and removing winter and spring buildup on the coils. We also clean the interior air handler units by cleaning the A-coils and placing a condenser tablet in each pan to prevent clogs and overflows.
A valuable summer safety tip for all Arrow communities is to change filters regularly as part of preventive maintenance. This practice prevents future issues and breakdowns, avoiding costly repairs and minimizing inconvenience for residents.
By prioritizing summer safety and ensuring resident comfort, we enhance our community’s appeal, leading to higher recommendations from families and supporting occupancy.
Following these tips ensures The Wildwood Senior Living remains safe, comfortable, and enjoyable for all residents and staff throughout the summer months. Our dedication to maintaining a secure environment is essential to everyone’s well-being.
